Synopsis

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end

Warning: This book ends with a cliffhanger that will be solved in the next one.

My Opinion on Mastered

I have to say that when I finished this book I wanted to scream at the top of my longs “WHY?!

I knew going into this that it was the first of a new series but being Maya Banks I just have to read it before the end of 2015. So I did. I finish this the last day of the year actually and I was happy as you can think I could be for doing so.

Even though Maya Banks left a letter to the reader at the very end of the book explaining why this was happening, since all her other books never ended on a cliffhanger, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I wanted to materialize where I could get my hands on the next book, today.

The story its beautiful in my opinion. Evangeline and Drake are one of those couples that you just think could exist if romance stories became true. At least I think so.

Why can’t a gorgeous, succesful man be attracted to a simple girl who has issues with the way she looks and it’s struggling to live by and help her parents? Why can’t he just intervene with her asshole ex tries to punch her in the face in a night club? Why can’t he just swept her off her feet and fall in love? It can happen. It happen in this book.

They have their problems like any couple that it’s just throw into living together and have to come to terms with each others little things and kinks and work hours and stuff. It’s normal in any relationship to have problems. It wouldn’t be a relationship if they were none, why? Because it would all be a lie.

There were a few things I didn’t like about Mastered but I will tell you that ending was my big-fat-ugly-i-want-to-strangle-her thing. Why? Why? Why? and again Why?

I had to erase a few lines here because I don’t want to give anyone any spoilers but I just have to add that May 3rd can’t come fast enough so I can get my hands onto Dominated, the next book.

The side characters deserve to be mentioned here also because I can’t express how much I loved them. Specially Silas, he was my go to guy. I love the way Maya portrays her characters and the fact that this series will go on and there will be a book about Silas… I’m happy to wait, for now…
