My thoughts on Spicy Dinner for Three
I got an ARC from the lovely Lusty to review and I couldn’t have been happier about that. So in order to do this review I have to be the most honest of the honest people I know. Right?
This is the story of how Lucy spend her New Years Eve and her birthday, being she was born in New Years, with her friend Sabine and Marc, Sabine’s boyfriend.
Lucy it’s a lesbian and Sabine had cross the line of friendship with her trying to see if the attraction they felt was not just strong, but also explosive, and it was. But Sabine was worried that Marc would leave her if she told him something, so they decided to seduced him… both… at the same time… Needles to say, poor Marc doesn’t have a clue about what it’s about to be unleashed upon him and subsequently, he don’t stand a chance.
I have to admit I knew this was a menage story. I knew this will have some girl-girl action in the sex department. I knew and I still pick it up. It was my first lesbian erotic book. I’ve done some writing of my own in this kind of scenario before but never read a story like this so bear with me a little.
I really liked the story. The way Sabine and Lucy meet. How they build their trust to the point Sabine was comfortable to try something with Lucy. Even the shy girl and the shock on Lucy’s face at the shy Sabine’s actions at some point or the other.
I have a bad habit of putting books aside after reading the synopsis and pick them up after a week or two, so I have a light idea of what they are about but not too deep into it and that works great because I can fully enjoy the guessing of the plot line and such.
Being the first female erotica book that I’ve read that has explicit scenes between the girls, it shocked me, I’m not going to lie about it. It was very well done and hot but still kind of left me with an odd feeling, like I was reading something taboo. In a way, being raised by my mother, for me it was. Once I got myself to forget about all that was drilled into my head that came from society and my mother, I was able to really suck the story to the deep end and I enjoy it a lot.
It was sexy. It was hot. It was steamy. It was very well written (my opinion obviously). It wasn’t too fast or too slow-paced. The sex… it was so well done that it felt like you could see it. The blow job scene… OMG… That was the best description I have ever seen of something like that…. EVER!
I was kept guessing and questioning, during the book, if I was seeing Lucy in the right light. I mean, she was too hot and attracted hot people to her and she was… special, sort of speaking. I had my own ideas of what she is but I wasn’t sure until after I finished the book, because then I went to the authors page and YEAH I was right hahahahaha
Do I have to specify that it threw me off a little that I was guessing around about Lucy being what she is during my reading? I was a little confuse but it was well done, don’t get me wrong, I loved the guessing game, but it can be very confusing.
I have to say, though, that I felt it a little heavy on the description side of things. I don’t know exactly why. I can’t pin point it right now but I felt like in some parts there was too much description going around and that kind of threw me off-balance and off the book a couple of times. But I came back!
I will definitely recommend this book to some friends of mine because it’s really that good. I have fun reading it and I have to admit that other reactions to some scenes were also present during the reading, if you know what I mean *blush*
