Synopsis (From Goodreads)

The thing about hitting rock bottom…

Ridley doesn’t think he has anything left to lose, not after the life he’s lived. Then he meets her, Freya Capone, the nurse who saves his life when the last thing he wants is to be saved.

One look at her, and he’s transfixed.

He doesn’t know what drives him to run by her house that night. Intuition. Sixth sense. Whatever it is, his gut screams at him to go, so he goes.
And thank God he does.

There isn’t any farther you can fall…

Freya hits bottom after her brother’s death. Her rock. Her best friend. Her everything. Gone.

She always knew it was a possibility that he might get hurt while on shift, but she never entertains the thought of him dying. Not until it’s too late.
She literally has nothing else to lose. Until she meets him. Ridley Walker. A biker with The Uncertain Saints MC and a local sheriff’s deputy.
The man responsible for taking away her best friend.

But at least you have a solid foundation to build upon…

The last thing Freya wants is to fall in love with the man responsible for her brother’s death. She doesn’t want to care that he is nearly killed. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with him.

But she can’t stay away.

And neither can he.

My thoughts on Dirty Mother

WARNING: This have spoilers. You’ve been warned.

I really wanted to start doing Lani Lynn Vale’s book reviews in order, but we don’t always get what we want, right?

I’ve been a fan of Lani Lynn Vale’s stories since I started reading them in February 2016. I love her way of writing and the way she makes her series be a part of this gigantic web of characters and situations that interconnects like you wouldn’t believe.

That gigantic spider web it’s what’s been stopping me from reading her Uncertain Saint’s Series and Kilgore Fire at the same time she is releasing each book, because let’s be honest here people: I got every book the day or week it’s out to the world.

When I finally started reading Dirty Mother *smiles* yes, I’m going to go directly to this book and stop talking about the others because this can get long… very long. Again, when I finally started reading Dirty Mother, a few days ago, I was hooked from the get go because the characters and the story line called to me.

As I said before, this book is interconnected with others and that’s the reason I was so hooked. Specially when you start the book and in chapter one the female protagonist it’s playing russian rulet with her dead brother’s gun. Obviously you would want to know more, right?

Deputy Ridley Walker with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, is one hell of a guy. He lives with his sister, her sister’s husband, and his little niece. He is overly protective of his sister Kitt and hates his twin brother with a passion. And let me tell you, he has every right to hate that fucker.

Colette Freya Capone is a shy sweet nurse that wants to work in a place were her co-workers are nicer, less unfriendly and they don’t make her life a living hell every single day. At the same time, she misses her brother Corey, her best friend and a police officer that died in a car accident.

How this two meet? When Ridley it’s taken with Kitt to the hospital after she had a seizure in his truck, while he was driving and they had an accident. Freya was the nice nurse that every other nurse kept messing with and that, in turn, got Ridley pretty upset. He could see they were bullying her and he didn’t like it one bit.

I’m not going to go into the hole plot of the book because I’m not insane and, because you seriously need to read it to understand what the hell is going on. There is so many things that you can see and recognize from other stories, characters and stuff that it’s fun, because you not only get to meet Ridley and Freya story, but you also get an update on the lives of other known characters.

One piece of advice when reading Lani Lynn Vale’s books, you always have to have kleenex close to you. Seriously, this is one of those books that will get tears to your eyes at the very beginning of the book and I love it, because she also have some pretty funny scenes where you just laugh or shake your head at the characters antics.

The development of Freya from a shy woman into a *shut her trap for a few seconds* I better not tell, but her path during the book is not easy, but she get’s there and I’m sure her brother would be so proud of her. Also, Ridley’s development from the man who run from any commitment, to a man who is insanely committed to one girl, again, it’s wonderful.

Lastly, I have to say the suspense during this romance novel was great. The testosterone was high and the moments of danger were planned in a way that you just have to keep on reading. When you reach the end, you’ll want more, and that’s a fact.
