SYNOPSIS FROM GOODREADS

Ava Vaughan is back to see her sexy estranged husband for one thing – to get a divorce. After living apart for the last six months the time has come to move on and start her life over. When she confronts Cole the last thing she expects is for him to say No.

Cole Jacobs isn’t ready to let go of Ava. He comes up with a plan that will keep her by his side. Not only will the gala help her fledging event planning company, it will also help raise funds for Cole’s Lodge Drysor and the activities the general public aren’t aware of. Once the job is over he will give her the divorce she wants.

Only working together brings buried feelings and secrets to the surface forcing them both to face the reasons why their marriage fell apart. Suddenly letting go isn’t as easy as either of them thought.

MY REVIEW

What drove me to this book was the blurb. I’m a lover of stories about couples that discover marriage is not all roses and have to step up, fight, and eventually be stronger in their relationships.

Ava was ready to divorce her husband Cole after not talking or seeing each other for six months. I was siding with her for sure and even thought she was strong for standing up for herself.

Cole on the other hand I wanted to shake badly. He gave her space, which was good of him but he didn’t use his balls to act like a man and get his wife back before all the shit hit the fan.

I had to complain about the fact that this book could have not even existed if the two main characters had just talk with each other. But is not that the problem of couples this days? Lack of good communication.

That being said, this was the first book by Nicole Flockton that I’ve read. I’m glad I did it because the writing was very well done. It portrayed the characters like it should. Also, it kept my interest in the story until the end.

I like book that have realistic elements in them, in the sense that people could and probably are experiencing part of this situations in their everyday lives. This story at least provides the reader with a happy ending.

It also gives the reader a way to see the relationships in a different angle. Maybe someone reading this book could pick up on the lack of communication in their marriages and try to do something about it.

Or could be just me wishful thinking a little…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.

On her first school report her teacher noted “Nicole likes to tell her own stories”. It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.

Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
