Let me begin by saying that I learned about Come Back to Me a little over a week ago. I got the extremely good luck of getting the chance to read it early and this is my review.
Since the book released the day this blog post is going out into the cyberspace, I won’t go into many details. So no spoilers for those that have not read it yet.
Character-wise I was so hooked I ended up reading this book in one sitting. Not only it has compelling characters but the depth of the feelings and emotions portrayed left me incredibly satisfied.
The writing style is simple and straightforward. If you have read my reviews before you’ll know that’s actually great news. No flourish writing or complicated words in this book.
Now, this is a book for readers over 18 years old, not only because of the heavy things that happen, the brutality at times or the hot steamy sex scenes…but I think those are enough reasons why you need to be older to read this story.
If you’re looking for a slow burn this is not it, at all. The pacing was so good that actually help to keep the reader hooked. You’re reading and when you least expect it something bad is going to happen. Not a dull moment here people.
As a début novel, it has some little details but remember that this is just my opinion. What took from it and add to it at the same time, conflicting my emotions, was that ending.
I was warned so I want to do the same too: this book ends on a cliff-hanger. When I got there, I didn’t know if I wanted to laugh at the cleverness of it or cry because I’ll have to wait a couple of months for all my questions to be answered.
The next book is out for pre-order for June 2018
