My Review

I stayed up late reading this book until the very end. There was something that pulled me and I couldn’t put it down. Regina Cole became a new author to my list of automatic reads.

Bethany is a woman trying to find her place in the world after she quit her job. Her best friend is getting married, she’s unemployed and of course, she accepts Sarah request to plan the wedding. She had no idea what she was getting into but at the same time, she wanted to help the family that has been there for her after her own father died some years ago.

Trey is the leader of The Shadows, a group of bikers that toe the line of the law trying to keep the town they live in free of drugs and criminals. He has lived his life thinking his mother abandoned him in a bathroom stall without a care in the world, and his only family is his men, The Shadows. He’s in for a surprise and a half when a PI founds him in a bar and tells him a shocking discovery.

I adored this story. It’s one of the funniest things I have read about bikers in a long time. The interaction between them was fantastic because they knew each other so well, but the way the tasks were taken over by The Shadows was so enjoyable that I can’t even begin to explain it.

The back and forward between Bethany and Trey was also interesting to see. How misunderstandings happened and how lies became so big that there was no going back. The love that grew between them and the way they wanted to keep their loved safe, also played a roll in me loving this story.

HEA was a perfect ending for this book and the idea of what’s to come for the men in this series makes me anxious to get the next book in my hands right now. I’m itching to see more, to read more, to know more.

The characters are relatable, all of them, even the secondary ones. The writing is simple but to the point, without overuse of big words or anything that could hinder the flow of the story. The plot was great, not only the romantic one because we are following two plots in this book, plots that interconnect at the end.

I would absolutely recommend this book to any lover of biker romances, family reunions, I fell for my best friend brother kind of books. You won’t regret a minute of the time you invest in this book.
