My Review
Drew was strong a strong female lead in this story. Even though it pained me to see the end of her relationship, I think the fact that she stood up for herself was commendable and fantastic. The kind of relationship she had with Nick was toxic and like it was mentioned in the book, some women don’t even know that that’s happening to them until they are too deep.
King is an alpha male that knows what he wants and is not afraid to get it. By any means necessary. When he set his eyes on Drew he wants her but I also loved how their relationship was not easy. He did make her work for it but she was strong enough to stand by his side and she proved it.
The plot of this story is intricate and simple at the same time. I know it sounds confusing but it’s true. The path of each character leads them to their own personal journey and at the same time, the love that grew so fast between them shown later in the story to show them the way to each other again.
This book made me think of those other dark romances where the female is viewed as an object, a toy or arm candy for the alpha male. Drew was nothing like that and even though King was a scary man, and made her go through stuff to get back into his good graces… She only proved that women are stronger than people give them credit for.
Writing wise I have no complaints what so ever. No writing mistakes, no nothing. The flow of the story was also well done and made for an “easy” read, sort of speak.
I ‘m curious to know how Trilina Pucci thinks she can top this story with her next one in the series. It’s Luca’s story for what I understood from the book. I can hardly wait.
I would recommend this book to hell in back, especially if you like dark romances with a strong female heroine.
Disclaimer: I’ve recerived an ARC copy of this book.
Thank you, Trilina Pucci!
