My Review
It’s been a couple of months since the release of Twisted Fate, the first book in this series, so logically it took me a few moments to get my bearings when I jumped into this world again. That didn’t stop me from reading this book in less than a day though *smile*
Tristan in this book didn’t have as big of a role like he had in Twisted Fate. That being said I think he has grown on me. I still think he’s such a guy but I can understand him a little better now and empathize with him more. His patience and love for Aurora were shining with the things he did and didn’t do, all for her, and they pay handsomely in the end.
Aurora, Aurora, Aurora… *shakes her head* Woman, you made me mad. I seriously wanted to slap her and there were two parts where I wanted to shake her to see if she would wake the F@%& up. When she finally did, she became the woman I remembered from Twisted Fate: strong, capable and didn’t let anyone slow her down.
There are not many sex scenes in this book but you have to be 18 years old or more to read this book. It’s not immediate when you start reading it, you have to work your way into the story to reach it but it’s soooooo worth it.
Writing wise it was balanced just like the previous one, the dialogue and narration were done correctly and in such a way that it was pleasant to read. The flow was not disturbed and I really enjoyed it… until the ending.
The plot thickens in this book. It’s a new adult romance but the things we learn about the fae, Aurora’s background and family tree, and other details that I won’t mention because of spoilers. The level of interest, tension, suspense, and romance was great.
I have an issue with the ending. It’s an HEA and not a cliff-hanger so don’t worry. My problem with it is that it felt a little tiny bit forced/fast paced. The book kept a good flow until after Tristan did what he did to be with Aurora, after that, for me in particular, it felt like something was missing…
Maybe that would be solved with the next book *big grin*
