MY REVIEW
Warning: BLOOD is an intrinsic part of this story and it’s characters. If you are NOT SURE you’re comfortable with blood + sex I would recommend you step with caution into this book. If you just CAN’T stand the idea, DON’T read this book.
Writing the review for Queen Takes Knights was hard. No words felt like they described my emotions well enough. Writing this review is a little like having a dejavú, but not exactly, at the same time.
Joely Sue Burkhart writing is amazing, her characters have a depth that I truly enjoy and the interaction between them is always interesting. I never know where I’m going to end when I’m reading one of her books. Well… I do know that at some point my heart is going to melt but that’s about it *smile*
Having read the last book, I admit my level of tolerance for the blood scenes was higher. I developed a mechanism that worked for Queen Takes King as well as the previous book. I pretend the blood is not there or, if it’s absolutely necessary for me to notice it, I pretend is chocolate *laughs*
As you may understand from my statement above and the warning at the beginning of this review, blood is still a huge deal in this book and it will most likely be for the entire series. Let’s be real, we are talking about a Vampire Queen’s journey so that should tell you something, right?
Shara Isador, the last Vampire Queen of House Isador. That girl has some power and some Blood. She is stronger than she looks and her enemies will find it hard to get to her, in my opinion, if they try to fuck with the Queen. Her Blood, which act like the old knights, are the best of the best. Add to that the King that she got in this book and I would be quivering in my sit if I were one of other Queens.
The plot twists in this book were not the point I want to drive home this time, even though they’re pretty good. What I want to shine a light to is the character development. I can’t express how much I loved the character development in this book. I’m writing this, firmly believing that’s the strongest point of this story… besides the sexy parts *wink*
I couldn’t give this book a 5 Star review because there were some minute little details I was a little iffy about by the end of the book. That being said and you can see, this book has a 4.5 Star Rating.
